Elon Musk wants a larger stake in Tesla for his AI work

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has made a bold demand to the company's board: he wants shares worth over $80 billion in order to continue advancing AI-based products.

Musk firmly believes that owning 25% of Tesla would grant him enough control to prevent takeovers and lead the company's AI and robotics initiatives.

Currently holding a 13% stake in Tesla, Musk plans to sell a portion of his stake in Twitter to acquire an additional 12% of Tesla, effectively recovering his investment in Twitter.

In the event that his demand is not met, Musk stated that he would prefer to develop products outside of Tesla.
